TATTOOED BRIDES

For those of you who have tattoos, you may be wondering if you should show off your tattoos or cover them up. I think you should either rock the look and show them off, or you should cover them completely. A lot of this depends on where the tattoo is and the cut of your dress. If your dress covers half of your tattoo then you should cover it up as it may look odd or out of place. If you or the groom have a modest family then it might be best to cover them up as well. If your dress doesn't interfere with your tattoo and it looks nice, then make a statement.

If you choose to cover it up, then check out Kat Von D's Concealer which is sold at Sephora. Wondering if it works? Look at the before and after photo of Kat Von D below.

The choice is yours. Show it off or cover it up.

GRAND EXITS

A simple tradition of throwing rice as the bride and groom departed has turned into an all out explosion. When people realized that throwing rice at the end of a wedding made birds sick, the tradition quickly came to a halt. Don't worry because brides started getting creative with their grand exits. Now they are bigger and better than ever.

ORDERING & SENDING INVITATIONS

Here are some helpful hints for ordering your wedding invitations, brought to you by Ciardullo Printing Inc. www.yourinvitationplace.com

Give your guests a secret number.
When assembling your guest list, give each address a number. Write this number lightly, in pencil, on the back of your response card prior to mailing. If guests forget to write their name on the card, or if you cannot read their writing, you know who is responding

Why do you send a Response Card?
Response cards are a convenient way for your guests to reply and for you to plan properly. They save you money on your reception cost, especially if a meal is being served by allowing you to keep track of an exact head count. If you are offering a meal choice, this can also be indicated on this card. Response cards include a reply envelope printed with your name and address. Do not forget to affix stamps on the reply envelope.

Why is it so important to put your address on the back of the invitation envelope?
Should you have an error on your guest list, the invitation will be returned to you by the post office. Otherwise, you will never know if your invitation arrived.

Check to make sure you are using the correct postage when mailing
Invitations that are over 1 ounce, or square or oversized, require extra postage. You can check what stamps you need by bringing a sample of your invitation to the post office. Also, ask them about their wedding stamps while you are there.

When do I order my invitations and how many do I order?
Be sure to have confirmed details of your ceremony and reception before ordering your invitations. This includes the date, time, and the location(s). You should also have an accurate head count. Order one invitation for each single adult, couple, or family invited. Order 25 extra invitations to be safe. Ordering more later can cost more and waste time.

When do I send out my wedding invitations?
Invitations traditionally are sent 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. Send Save the Date cards 4 to 6 months before your wedding to notify guests that you are getting married, especially if it is during a holiday weekend or if they need to travel.

Western Wedding

Bride and Groom

Invitations
To get a western feel, use fonts like the ones seen on "Wanted" posters. Dull colors add to the effect.

Bridesmaids
Small floral print sundresses are perfect for the bridesmaids. Mix and match, and add cowboy boots to top it off.

Groomsmen
Have the groomsmen wear brown vests and cream shirts. If you wanna go all out, add cowboy hats!

Bouquet
Who needs a floral bouquet? Get original and use dried wheat for an untraditional look.

Ceremony
For the ceremony, use bails of hay for seating. Have the ceremony in a barn, forest, or field for beautiful scenery. Using old barrels adds to the western look and feel.

Place Cards
Attach each place card to a horse shoe or put them on old carriage wheels for a fun seating arrangement.

Guest Book
Have a picture printed of the happy couple and cut it into pieces. Have each guest sign the back with a message and then have them hang it on a board to put the picture together again. (You can number the back so that people know where each piece goes.)

Reception
Mix christmas lights, chandeliers, and candles with wood, hay, and iron for a beautiful western feel. Use natural colors for the table settings and decorations.

Drinks
Old barrels make great table bases. Put a few next to each other with a piece of unfinished wood on top to create a cool table.
